Fun With Sounds at Halloween

The sounds of Halloween are easy to think of. Creaking doors, strange moaning sounds or faint giggles that don’t seem to come from anywhere in particular.

Many adults will say that they aren’t afraid of such sounds at Halloween, but that’s not necessarily the truth. The right sound at exactly the right moment will scare anybody, especially if they aren’t ready for it. You can make up your own sounds, or you can find very good selections of spooky sounds in music stores or online.

At Halloween you can use these sounds to spice up anything you want. You can find a spooky sound for your doorbell which will scare some people and at least cause others to stop in their tracks when they ring. When kids come for trick or treat your dooebell will give them a thrill if nothing else. They certainly won’t be expecting it.

You can also have Halloween sounds that might trigger when someone walks into your yard or even through a certain door in your home. Halloween sounds should be a bit scary, but remember, if you expect to have very young children around at Halloween it might be better to stick with more familiar sounds, such as a cat meowing or a door creaking to make sure you don’t scare the little ones.

If you want to make your own sounds, and you have the equipment to do it, don’t restrict yourself to the typical scary, ghostly sounds of Halloween. You can record all different voices and echoes, hisses and groans, cackling laughter and giggles, hoots and other bird calls, all of which will work for Halloween
